Hi, my name is Jake Bender.

I am a life-long learner, and a recent graduate from the University of Alberta, receiving my Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in psychology & minoring in philosophy. I started my tutoring journey at the University of Alberta, specializing in university level English, Philosophy, and Psychology.

With a passion for literature and a deep understanding of English language arts, I will help you to develop strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Whether you need support with creative writing, essay writing, improving your reading comprehension and grammar skills, or preparing for exams, I will be your guide to success. I believe in making learning fun, engaging, and accessible for everyone; and I really enjoy helping students find the confidence to achieve academic success.
