Who We Are
Hi! Welcome to Lomita Tutoring Corp.
Our names are Balbina and Vicente, the owners of Lomita Tutoring Corp. We are also the winners of the Young Entrepreneur Award for the year of 2024. We are not a franchise, it’s just us two - a local business ran by siblings.
The two of us are born and raised in St. Albert, Balbina is also an alumni from the University of Alberta. Vicente is currently finishing his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering.
A little-known fact about us both was that we would seek tutors for extra support to strengthen our understanding on topics. With the impact they left on us, I felt like I can finally provide that service back to students that faced similar obstacles that I did.
We were certainly not always the top in the class during my high school years. Quite frankly, we had to study long hours just to understand concepts. So, we get it. We get how frustrating it is to study numerous hours and still not understand the concept. We were there too, but since tapping into getting extra support - we were able to turn the story around. And so can you!
We believe that every student has the ability to learn and achieve their desired goals. All you truly need is the right support and that’s why where Lomita comes into the picture.
Fast forward to now, we both got into engineering school. Balbina has also completed a masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
